The Blate Family: One Calendar, Five Schedules​

May and Will Blate have two kids, Noah (16) and Sue (10), with completely different weekly schedules. May manages school runs, after-school activities, and family appointments. Will has his own work calendar with daily standups, deep work blocks, and a Friday project review. Noah has basketball practice Monday and Wednesday evenings. Sue has ballet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Before PrimeCal: May was maintaining a paper calendar and a mix of separate apps. Nothing was in sync — Will didn't always know when Sue needed a pickup. Noah didn't see when family events conflicted with his practice schedule.

With PrimeCal:

  • May created a "Late Family" calendar and shared it: Will with Write access (so he can add events too), Noah and Sue with Read access (so they see it but can't accidentally delete things)
  • Everyone keeps their own private calendars for personal events
  • Family events appear in everyone's week view in green — Will's work calendar is blue, Noah's basketball calendar is purple, Sue's school calendar is yellow
  • May uses a recurring event for school drop-offs (MWF), so she sets it once and it appears automatically each week
  • An automation rule re-colors any event with "Doctor" in the title to Red — so family appointments are immediately visible in a busy week

The result: the whole family is on the same page without anyone seeing each other's private schedules.
