Responding to Invitations

When someone invites you to an event, it appears in your calendar in a pending state. You can respond with Accept, Decline, or Maybe (tentative).

Finding Pending Invitations

Pending invitations appear in your calendar with a distinct visual indicator (usually a lighter color or dashed border) until you respond. You can also find them in your notification center.

How To Respond

  1. Click the pending event on your calendar.
  2. In the event detail panel, find the RSVP buttons.
  3. Click your response:
    • Accept — confirms your attendance; the event becomes fully visible on your calendar
    • Decline — you won't attend; the event is removed from your calendar (but the organizer can still see you declined)
    • Maybe — you're tentative; the event stays on your calendar marked as uncertain

Changing Your Response

You can change your response at any time before the event:

  1. Click the event.
  2. Click your current response to toggle to a different one.

The organizer is notified when you change your RSVP.

For External Invitations (Email)

If you were invited via email (without a PrimeCal account), you receive:

  • An email with Accept, Decline, and Maybe links
  • Click the appropriate link — your response is recorded and the organizer is notified

What Happens On Acceptance

When you accept:

  • The event becomes fully colored on your calendar (no longer "pending")
  • Your name appears as "Accepted" in the event's attendee list
  • The organizer can see your response in the attendee status view

What Happens On Decline

When you decline:

  • The event is removed from your calendar view
  • The organizer sees you declined in the attendee list
  • You won't receive reminders for that event

Example

Noah receives a basketball game invitation from Justin. He taps the event on his PrimeCal mobile app and clicks Accept. The game now appears fully on his calendar, and Justin sees "Noah — Accepted" in the attendee list.
