Date and Time Formats
PrimeCal lets you choose how times and dates are displayed throughout the app. These settings are personal — each user has their own format preferences, independent of other family or team members.
Where To Find These Settings
- Click your avatar or name in the top-right corner.
- Select Profile.
- Scroll to the Personalization section.
Time Format
Choose how times appear across the calendar views, event modals, and the Focus timeline.
| Option | Example | Common in |
|---|---|---|
| 12-hour (AM/PM) | 9:00 AM, 3:30 PM | USA, Canada, UK |
| 24-hour | 09:00, 15:30 | Europe, most of the world |
The time format applies to:
- Week view time slots (left-hand time labels)
- Focus view live clock and event times
- Event modals (start/end time pickers)
- Automation time-based triggers
Will works on US-based AI projects and prefers 24-hour format for his technical schedule. May prefers 12-hour format. Since these are personal settings, both can use PrimeCal without changing each other's display.
Week Start Day
Choose which day appears as the first column in Month and Week views.
| Option | Common in |
|---|---|
| Monday | Europe, most international contexts |
| Sunday | USA, Canada |
| Saturday | Some Middle Eastern countries |
How to change: Profile → Personalization → Week starts on → choose your day.
This setting only affects the visual layout of the calendar — it does not change when recurring events fire or how dates are stored.
Default Calendar View
Set which view PrimeCal opens to when you first arrive at the main workspace.
| View | Best for |
|---|---|
| Focus | People who want to see what's happening right now |
| Month | Planners who think in weekly/monthly chunks |
| Week | Schedulers who need precise time control |
How to change: Profile → Personalization → Default calendar view.
You can always switch views from the top bar — this setting just decides where you land on first load.
Date Display
PrimeCal follows your browser's regional locale for date formatting (e.g., MM/DD/YYYY vs DD.MM.YYYY). Changing your Language and Locale may affect the date display convention.
