Pairing A Device

A Device is the physical hardware showing your Screen — a smart TV, a tablet, a kiosk PC, a Raspberry Pi, even a car's built-in display. Pairing one takes about a minute and never requires typing a password on the device itself.

Step 1: Open the pairing screen on the device

On the display you want to pair, open https://app.primecal.eu/device in its browser (for a permanent kiosk setup, configure the browser to launch directly into this URL in fullscreen/kiosk mode). It will show a large, easy-to-read 8-character pairing code (letters and numbers; it skips 0/O and 1/I so there's nothing ambiguous to read off a screen across the room).

Step 2: Enter the code on your phone or computer

On a device you're already signed into PrimeCal with, go to Screens → Devices → Pair a device, type in the 8-character code shown on the display, and give the device a name (e.g. "Kitchen Wallboard"). Optionally pick a Screen to assign right away.

Step 3: It's paired

Within a few seconds, the display automatically detects the pairing and starts showing its assigned Screen — no further action needed on the device itself. If no Screen is assigned yet, it shows a calm "no screen assigned" message until you pick one.

Assigning or changing a Screen

From Screens → Devices, use the dropdown next to any paired device to assign or change which Screen it shows. The device picks up the change automatically within about 30 seconds — no need to touch the device itself.

Revoking a device

If a device is lost, decommissioned, or you just want to disconnect it, click Revoke next to it in the Devices list. Access is cut off immediately — there's no waiting period.

A note on physical security

A paired device's credential is stored on that device (in its browser's local storage) so it can keep showing content without anyone signing in. If a device is physically accessible to someone you don't trust, treat it the way you'd treat any unattended screen: it can only ever show the one Screen it's assigned to, and revoking it from your account instantly cuts off access.

Pairing codes expire

An 8-character pairing code is valid for 10 minutes and can only be used once. If it expires before you enter it, the device automatically shows a fresh one — just try again.
